FAQ
What is WarnMe App and what is it for?
WarnMe App is a free service that generates a personal QR Code you can attach to objects, vehicles, pets, or wearables for children and the elderly. Anyone who scans it can contact you via WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or phone — without seeing your personal data and without installing any app.
How can someone contact me without seeing my phone number?
Your public profile only shows action buttons. Numbers and usernames are AES-256-GCM encrypted in the database and used only server-side when a button is clicked. The person contacting you never sees your data in plain text.
Where is my data stored?
On Google Firestore (European region), managed by Google as a GDPR-compliant data processor. Sensitive contact channels are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key stored on our server, outside the database.
Is WarnMe App free?
Yes, completely free. No ads, no trackers, no data selling. QR Code generation and use are unlimited.
Can I use the same QR for multiple things or do I need different QRs?
You can create multiple Tags, one QR each — one for your car, one for your dog's collar, one for your child's bracelet, etc. Messages are grouped by Tag in the dashboard.
What if I lose access to my account?
Passwords are managed by Google Firebase Authentication. From the login page, a "Forgot password?" link sends a reset email to your address.
Can I delete my data?
Yes, at any time. From the Personal Data page you can export all your data as JSON or completely delete your account (right to erasure, Art. 17 GDPR).
Does the QR work with any smartphone?
Yes, any smartphone with a camera. No app installation needed for either the owner or the person who finds the object.
